Serving Lenoir, NC — From Older Homes to New Builds

Lenoir has one of the widest mixes of home ages in the region, and that means electrical work here isn't one-size-fits-all. An older home might be due for a full panel replacement to safely run modern appliances. A newer build might just need a quick repair. Stickler's Electrical Service has the experience for both, and everything in between.

A Lenoir Project: Service Change With Permit, Inspection and Duke Energy Coordination

In October 2026 we completed an electrical service change for a Lenoir homeowner. The electrical work itself went smoothly. What takes real experience on a job like this is coordinating everyone who has to be involved, so the power is off for as short a time as possible.

How the Day Went

  • Permit and inspection: We pulled the permit and scheduled the inspection for October 15, 2026, the same day we applied.
  • Power company: We scheduled Duke Energy to disconnect power at 8 a.m. They arrived on time and we started right away.
  • The work: The service change was finished by 11 a.m.
  • Inspection: The county inspector was assigned that afternoon and the inspection was completed at 2:30 p.m. and the work passed
  • Reconnection: Duke Energy received the release to restore power at 3 p.m. The utility's service conductors were short, so Duke Energy spliced them to reach the new meter base before power could be restored.

Staying Until the Lights Came Back On

Reconnection timing belongs to the power company and the county, not the electrician. In this case the homeowner's power was not restored until 12:15 p.m. the next day, and we stayed with the job until it was back on. That is how we handle every service change: we plan it, we stay on top of it, and we do not leave a customer without power if we can help it.
